Weld Edges Tool

Easily weld connected edges to create continuous curves or merge adjacent line segments.

How it works

1. Activate the tool
2. Click on a first edge or curve to weld
3. Click on an adjacent edge sharing a common vertex
4. Connected edges will be automatically welded into a continuous curve
5. Repeat the operation to add more edges to the chain

Advanced features

• Automatic welding: if edges are pre-selected, the tool automatically welds them into a connected chain
• Curve detection: the tool recognizes existing curves and offers to extend them
• Smart selection: hover over an edge to see the entire curve that will be selected
• Deselection: clicking on an already selected edge removes it from the selection

Welding conditions

• Edges must share exactly one common vertex
• Edges must be connected end-to-end
• The tool works with straight lines, arcs, and curves
• Minimum of 2 edges required to perform welding

Tips

• Pre-select multiple connected edges before activating the tool for automatic welding
• The cursor changes appearance when an edge is weldable
• Welded edges in blue indicate the current selection
• Hover over a vertex to see all available connected edges
• The tool prioritizes existing curves during multiple selection
• Use this tool to simplify geometry and create smooth paths
• Perfect for cleaning up imported contours or complex paths
